OWING TO THE “PLANT A TREE” PROJECT, FIRST-GRADERS PLANT TREES AT ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN SERBIA TODAY

All elementary schools in Serbia were provided with Scotch pine seedlings, which first-grade students planted in their schoolyards at the same time today, between 10am and 12pm, together with their teachers.

“Watch As We Grow” is the first drive as part of the “Plant A Tree” project’s “Big Week”, initiated by Adria Media Group and dm drogerie markt. The drive aimed at junior schoolchildren was organized with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development. The Scotch pine seedlings, originated by the PE Srbijašume plant nursery, were placed in 1,200 packages, and distributed to all elementary schools in Serbia with the help of the students of the Kraljevo Secondary School of Forestry.

“We are very pleased that all the first-graders in the country have an opportunity to attend the planting and learn more about the importance of forestation. Education is key, and this is why, in addition to planting, we pay a great deal of attention to educational programmes intended for children. We are grateful to our partners, who make it possible for the ‘Plant A Tree’ project to set ever more ambitious goals and achieve increasingly important results,” Ana Aleksić from Adria Media Group’ top management said in a statement.
